rivelato finalmente il ricatto nuclearista statunitense
In
the wake of Taiwan's decision to halt construction of the Fourth Nuclear
Power Plant, the US on Friday reiterated its concern that contractual
obligations
should be upheld.
US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said the decision to proceed or not with construction of the island's fourth nuclear plant was a choice for Taiwan's authorities to make.
"Our major concern is that contract provisions will all be fulfilled," Boucher said, referring to a contract previously reached between Taiwan and General Electric Co over the supply of nuclear power generation equipment.
According to estimates Taipower will have to compensate foreign equipment suppliers between NT$30 billion (US$952.38 million) and NT$90.3 billion (US$2.87 billion) for scrapping the reactor deal.
