6 will be the 11th anniversary of the imposition of sanctions on Iraq (and
the 56th of the Hiroshima bombing). It will be a National Day of Action,
with actions around the country concentrating on the effects of depleted
uranium, a radioactive substance used by the U.S. in armor-piercing shells
and bombs, 300 tons of which were deposited in southern Iraq during the

The
Day of Action will also kick off a 40-day fast by members of Voices in
the Wilderness and others, in New York (in front of the UN) and London.
At least nine people will go the whole 40 days with only juices. Fasters
