Bruce George MP, Chairman of the Defence Select Committee said ...

" We have banned land mines. If we ban depleted uranium, then there is no acceptable way of destroying tanks. Now if you take away both of those weapons, then you may as well settle your disputes with conkers, because normal military methods are not going to be used."

Please Note: Anti-tank mines have not been banned under the Ottawa Convention (neither have conkers)
