Monday February 12 At 7.00pm the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Common Security and Defence Policy and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy have an exchange of views with Dr Klaus Topfer, Head of UN Environment Programme and Pekka Haavisto, Chair of the UNEP/UNCHS Balkans Task Force on the use of depleted uranium ammunition in the Western Balkans.

The European parliament will consider the safe loading and unloading of bulk carriers and the EU rail system as well as cod stocks in the Irish Sea. The Ecofin group of European finance ministers will also be meeting.

Tuesday February 13 The parliament will receive a presentation by the President of the Commission of its programme for 2001 and will receive a variety of reports.

Wednesday February 14 The parliament receives a report on the accession partnership with Turkey and there are oral question on the free movement of persons. Other issues will also be considered.

Thursday February 15 A report on the safe transport of radioactive material will be among the items considered in the European parliament.

Friday February 16 The parliament is not scheduled to sit today.
