Salvatore Carbonaro, 24,an armourer from Sicily, died in November 2000 after serving in Bosnia in 1998 and 1999.

Salvatore Vacca, 23, from Sardinia, served in Bosnia in 1998 and 1999 with the elite Sassari Brigade. Died September 1999.

Giuseppe Pintus, 23, also from Sardinia and the Sassari Brigade. Died 1994. Did not serve in Balkans. Family says depleted uranium was at the Sardinian range where he was posted. Army denies this.

Andrea Antonacci, 25, from Florence. In Bosnia from August 1998 to March 1999. Died December 2000.

An unnamed solder, died in December 2000 after being seconded to the Red Cross in Bosnia.

Rinaldo Colombo, Carabinieri (military police) officer from Varese, near the Italian Lakes. Died November 2000. Also served in Bosnia.
