Israel has signed the landmark treaty creating an international criminal court. The International Criminal Court, based on the principles of the Nazi war crime trials at the end of the Second World War, would try individuals accused of the world's most heinous crimes -- genocide, war crimes and other gross human rights violations. Israel followed the United States in signing the treaty, the 139th country to do so, shortly before the Sunday midnight deadline.
