French female reporter ill from uranium

(Paris, January 9) French reporter Marie-Claude Dubin, who reported from the scene during the Gulf War and the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced on Tuesday that she is suffering from the same symptoms as soldiers ailing from the so-called “Balkan syndrome” and “Gulf syndrome”. In a statement for Le Parisienne, Dubin confirmed that she has had a nervous disorder but also problems with her muscles and digestion since the time she reported from the above war scenes. She indicated that she suspected that the reason may be the effects of depleted uranium. Dubin is scheduled to testify before a special investigative commission of the French parliament today. “I do not claim that depleted uranium was certainly the cause of my illnesses; but I am ill and I have the same symptoms as the war veterans,” says Marie-Claude Dubin. She accused the Pentagon and the French Army of refusing to accept responsiblity.
