USA: da dove arriva e dove è usato l'uranio delle armi? (4 novembre)

Can anyone give me a list of Non-military uses of DU and the manufacturers of those products? I.e. Lift Counterweights, Ballasts for ships Bridges, Weighing Stations etc,  Containers, Radiography Shields, Ceramic Paint Colouration etc. We are attempting to show how wide spread the contamination may be in the public domain.

Hi Dennis:
Just a point, I overheard that the rand corp. was pushing for gasoline storage tanks. I'am keeping tabs on d/u, but my interest is health care. For example in massachusetts, The towns of Watertown, concord, lexington, plymouth all have hidden the first long term cancers of Depleted Uranium.

>>The meetings at the dept. of public health that will be coming in the next month will tell us what we should be doing.

Chris:
Sorry to be so vague, but it's hard to know.  We've been looking into just this question at the enrichment plants.  Recycled U came from several sources, mainly Hanford.  This U was generally put back into the Paducah gaseous diffusion plant.  Recycled U from the Savannah River Plant - I don't know what happened to that, but it was sure to be somewhat enriched and is unlikely to have been used as munitions.  From commercial fuel, a little was separated at West Valley (~660 tons) and then went to Fernald.  We have a FOIA request in to determine where this U went, but apparently it did not go to the enrichment plants, so this may be a candidate.
