GERMAN KFOR TROOPS TO UNDERGO RADIATION TEST
(B92, 30. 12. 2000.)

Hamburg, Saturday - German KFOR soldiers are to undergo strict medical examinations to check for signs of radiation, a Sunday paper reported today. Welt am Sonntag writes that the tests are the results of fears of the health risks posed by the depleted uranium used in ammunition. The paper writes that a German defence ministry official said that preliminary tests undertaken so far on soldiers had not detected any danger signs. High levels of radioactivity had been found on three open plains and on the wreckage of a Yugoslav tank. (Srna)
